Software:

Download software from [...]

The software is a short and simple download. The website is flashy although, it is not well organized. It took me a while to find where I can utilize the i-Tag. The steps are the following: 1) Download the software 2) Link to the specific toy that you have under the "See Toys and i-Tags"bar in the top right hand corner of the screen. 3) Show the tag on the webcam screen. What seemed to be misleading is that I thought that we would have a "virtual action" figure. Instead, there is only 1 3D image and the images can be of anything like a Wisp or the floating mountain range. For a Macbook Pro user with the camera at the top of the notebook's screen, you really cannot lay the Tag flat as they show on the example video.

The Figure:

The figures are easy to pose. The neck turns, the waist twists, the hips abduct, the knees/elbows/ankles flex, and the forearms/lower legs rotate. The hands have set "grips" but hold the accessory "OK" but not great. The action figure seems very fragile in the sense and for very young users, it is likely going to break easily. The weapon is a spear but very soft - good for safety but not too helpful for actual play given the flexibility. The tail and Queue (Pony tail) are flexible but interfere with the character's ability to sit down. I can foresee this as the first thing to break on this entire line of action figures. The detail of the figures is very good, even to the level of their costumes. Avatars have 5 digits on their hands/feet whereas the Na'Vi have 4 digits on their hands and feet.

Jake Sully is one of the more poseable Na'Vi action figures since he has no ceremonial adornments that limit his range of motion. The spear is flexible. The i-Tag is useless for this particular character.

PROS

Highly detailed
Articulations are more detailed and have great range of motion

CONS

i-Tags are a bust
Durability is questionable, at best

CONCLUSION

This is still a fun action figure for my daughter. She wanted me to give 5 stars. I took one star away for the durability and one star away for the disappointing i-Tag.
